Description

I’m the Lemon Button Fern, the best type of fern in my opinion. I get my name because, during my active growing season, I give off the warmest and most refreshing lemony scent. I am quite small and only ever reach heights of 1′ tall. If you have had troubles finding a fern that you can keep alive, then I am the plant for you. I can tolerate low light to bright, indirect light making me very versatile to fit anywhere in your home. I am great at boosting humidity and am also safe to be around your pets.

🌱 Care Level – Easy: The Lemon Button Fern is a user-friendly plant, perfect for beginners due to its adaptability and straightforward care.

🐾 Pet-Friendly – Safe: This fern is non-toxic, making it a safe option for homes with pets.

☀️ Light – Moderate to Low: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent leaf scorch.

💧 Water – Consistent: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Reduce watering slightly in winter.

🌫️ Humidity – High: Thrives in a humid environment. Consider misting or using a humidifier, especially in drier conditions.

🌡️ Temperature – Moderate: Best kept in temperatures between 60-75°F (15-24°C). Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

🌍 Hardiness Zones – 9-11: While typically an indoor plant, it can survive outdoors in these zones.

🌿 Fertilizing – Light: Fertilize lightly during the growing season (spring through summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.

🪴 Re-potting – Every 2-3 Years: Re-pot when the plant outgrows its current container, using a well-draining soil mix.

🧹 Cleaning – Simple: Dust the fronds gently with a soft brush or cloth to maintain the plant’s health and appearance.

🌱 Propagation – Division: Propagate by dividing the plant during re-potting, typically in spring.

🌎 Origin – Tropical Regions: Native to tropical regions, the Lemon Button Fern is named for its small, round “button-like” leaves and subtle lemon scent when crushed.
